Time vs. Money

Let's be honest...

We are demanding people. We want things NOW. And we will pay to get it RIGHT NOW. Look at our behavior with online shopping. We don't even have to go to the store anymore to try on the shoes or dress.
Vuola!
It can be delivered to our doorstep in literally 24 hours or less.

I found a great place to tack this message..in a NYC yellow cab!! This was the perfect example of time vs. $. I was running late to a dinner date with some friends and the trains seemed to be taking FOREVER. So instead of spending my time waiting on the hot steamy platform, my yellow chariot awaited me as I came above ground. I decided in that moment I would save my time and spend my $ on a cab.

"Time & Money are interchangable. You can always save one by spending more of the other." - Pennie Williams

The next time you are making a purchase, wanting to skip a line, or even hopping in a cab, think about Time vs. Money. Which do you value more?

I Challenge Thee!

We love normalcy. We all know that the only thing constant in life is change but we RESIST!

Why? Because we are afraid. I can list a gazillion things but I'll leave that up to you to decide.

"Try a thing you haven't done 3 times. Once, to get over the fear of doing it. Twice to learn how to do it. And a third time, to figure out whether you like it or not." - Virgil Thomson

So I challenge you!

Tell me what you did 3 times, how you felt and the results. I would love to hear your story. Maybe I'll share a story or two.

I posted this in one of my favorite Spanish restaurant in Brooklyn. Keep your eyes and belly open!

Word is Bond.

I have extraordinary people in my life. I have one in particular named Sallomazing but our super hero friends call her Dream Machine.

We made a pact that we would be women of our word. We created an integrity exercise where we would email each other everyday the list of things we planned to do. The first quarter of the year we were kicking ass! but then slowly but surely we started slippin'. Why? Because we were going through it!!!! lol

Prospect Ave and 5th Ave posted on the B63 stop. Maybe someone lucky will find it.

"Purity of the hear is blooming the same colors in the middle of the wilderness when no one else sees you." - Vanna Bonta

Well today, we decided that we would start it up because we both knew that this exercise helped us become the woman we want to be. We re-commit to beingimpeccable with our word (The 4 agreements).

It's not easy but with mindfulness and practice, integrity will prevail.

Don't take it personal

I've been reading this book called The 4 Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz.

One of the four agreements is: Don't take it personal.

Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.

Yes..this is a challenging agreement to live by but with practice and time it will help you create your heaven.

Here is a video from the artist Monica that comes to mind when I think of this agreement.

I posted this agreement @ Cadman Plaza Park by the Brooklyn Bridge. It rained but I'm sure someone got a glimpse of it.

I still was able to create sunshine through the rainstorm!

square inches of sunshine

I was thinking of what to write on my next message to the world. I made a mistake after look at it a few times and I refuse to waste a post-it!

I first wrote: You look beautiful today.

Then I thought to myself...well you aren't just beautiful today but you are beautiful everyday! So I crossed out: Look and wrote ARE and crossed out: Today.

So now it reads: You (look) are beautiful (today)!

It's kind of hard to read because my camera kind of stinks but you catch my drift.

We can all create some sunshine in bathrooms with no windows. I posted in the bathroom of Mooncakes on Watts and Thompson. A yummy little restaurant that serves asian comfort food.

Let's hope someone finds it.

My Heavenly Glory

To my beloved globalites,

This virtual intersection was conceived laying in my bed one night after a retreat at the beach soaking up the sun and all it's Heavenly Glory. My name is Ashley and my superhero name is Heavenly Glory. The name comes from one of my favorite movies by an extraordinary man: Bruce Lee.

"Don't concentrate on the finger or you will miss all that heavenly glory."

This idea was birthed with the purpose to remind you that the power of light is in your hands. As you battle negativity, upset, unfulfilled expectations, and many other distractions (the finger), don't ever forget that every day is a new day to live out YOUR dreams, create your own heaven.

I hope that my hand written messages (written on colorful post-it notes) that you find in the crevices of the universe encourage you to think, say, and do better and brighter every day. I have my own powerful messages that I received from friends, clipped from magazines, and even cereal boxes all over my apartment reminding me of my greatness and light. The most high sends me signs. Allow my messages to be a sign, an affirmation. You are reading them for a reason. My messages (whether they are quotes, reminders, and questions) come from the heart with the intention to make you reflect about your life and focus on things you wish to change. Then ACT on that reflection.

Please pass it on or stick it else where for someone to see. You can even keep it for yourself and stick it on your bathroom mirror but I just ask that you pay it forward.

This site is a lighthouse. Constantly shining the light to help steer you in the right direction but it's up to you to find your groove. I'm committed to posting all things positive to combat the negative forces that we deal with everyday. So come visit from time to time. I'll always have goodies for you.

Like Bruce Lee, MY dream is to be a master...a master of self but most of all, a master of giving. So I give YOU thanks for being my inspiration and for being you.

You can reach me at Myheavenlyglory@gmail.com.

Your are a gift, so give wisely.
